Starting near the Scheunenviertel and the Oranienburger Tor in the north, past the Friedrichstadpalast and the Admiralspalast the Friedrichstrasße crosses the Spree on Weidendammer Bridge. Many office and commerce spaces are located near the tram and the train station Friedrichstraße until it reaches the boulevard Unter den Linden.

Crossing the main boulevard with its many impressive architectual higlights, Friedrichstraße becomes home to many fine shops and boutiques, as well as car show rooms. Running in parallel to the famous Gendarmenmarkt where the French and German cathedrals and the Konzerthaus are located it meats the Leipziger Straße; one of the city's most important east-west connections.
